For almost 20 years, the Spinnekoppen workshops have been known as practical, high-value training for people who want to improve quickly.
Our method teaches you how to think like a face painter, not just copy a few designs by heart. You learn structure, categories and process so you can build your own style and design library over time.
You do not just copy examples. You learn the logic behind each design so you understand exactly what you are doing.
Combined with years of teaching and almost 30 years of event experience, this approach gives participants practical skills they can use immediately. Our workshops are suitable for parents, teachers and future professionals.
You will learn about 15 designs, facial structure, brush and sponge techniques, hygiene, client communication and practical product knowledge.
We started teaching in 2006 and have trained schools, youth organisations and many private groups since then. This experience helps us guide each participant clearly and effectively.
During the workshop we also explain practical setup and workflow: how to organise your table, keep brushes and sponges clean, and choose reliable products for different skin types. That extra structure helps beginners work faster, stay hygienic and paint with more confidence from the very first session.
In 2019 and 2020, De Spinnekoppen worked with Studio 100 to create tutorial videos for Studio 100 GO. We demonstrated well-known characters step by step, including clean line placement, sponge blending and clear shape-building that beginners can follow at home.
Those videos were designed as practical learning tools: short, clear and easy to replay while you practice. They still offer a useful reference for anyone who wants to build confidence with structured face-painting designs.
You can train with us in three ways: join a group workshop, book a private lesson, or request an on-location group workshop. Options, pricing and conditions differ per format.

In our group workshop, you learn everything required to start face painting yourself. Beginners and experienced participants are both welcome.
The full workshop runs from 9:00 to 17:00. You can also choose a half-day morning session if you only need a basic introduction.
We provide all training materials and include a practical handbook with exercises and examples.
Throughout the day, we explain why each shape works and how to adapt designs for different ages, face sizes and event types. That way, you build real understanding instead of depending on fixed step-by-step copies.
You also receive practical tips on speed, brush control and clean finishing so your lines stay sharp and your colors remain bright. By the end of the workshop, you can confidently paint complete designs on your own.

Yes. We start with fundamentals and build up step by step, so even first-time painters can follow and improve.
Who is this workshop for?

Can I learn everything in one day?
You gain a solid foundation in one day. Mastery comes with practice, but the method will immediately improve your results.
Do we need to paint on each other or bring a model?
No. We use professional practice heads, so everyone can train efficiently without repeated clean-up on live models.
Do we need to bring anything?
Please bring lunch, a drink, one old cloth and wet wipes. We provide all face-paint and training materials.
Pricing
The full-day workshop costs EUR 125 per participant. A morning-only option (brush + sponge basics, pretty and animal designs) costs EUR 85.

Pricing
The price for private lessons is EUR 190, including workshop materials and handbook. With two or more participants, the rate is EUR 175 per person. Maximum group size for private training: four people.
You can book us for on-site workshops for schools, youth groups, teachers, childcare teams, carnival groups and organisations. Sessions can run from 3 hours to a full day.
Each workshop is tailored to your group level and goals. We can focus on beginner-friendly face painting, themed events, or practical team training for staff who need clear, repeatable designs.
We combine live demonstrations with guided practice so participants immediately apply what they learn. This keeps sessions active, engaging and useful for both first-time painters and teams that want to improve consistency.

What is included in an on-location group workshop?
A short workshop (minimum 3 hours) focuses on core techniques and key designs. Longer sessions include more designs, more techniques and deeper understanding.
How many participants can join?
Minimum 4 and maximum 16 participants. Larger groups should be split into multiple sessions.
Which locations are possible?
Short sessions (2 hours or less) are limited to a 50 km radius around Oudenaarde. From 3 hours onward, we travel throughout Flanders.
Can the workshop focus on a specific topic?
Yes. We can build custom sessions around a specific design, theme or target audience.
What do we need to provide as organisers?
A room with tables and chairs for participants. We bring all workshop materials, including adapted training sheets.
